Building the same app twice is a strange way to spend a budget.

The traditional route is to build your app two times over — once for iPhone, once for Android, by two teams who share nothing. Every feature gets specified twice, built twice, tested twice, and fixed twice. Then the two versions drift apart, and whichever platform your team likes less quietly gets the worse app.

React Native lets us write the app once and ship it to both stores, with the parts that must feel native — camera, maps, notifications, payments, fingerprint and face unlock — built natively underneath. It looks and moves like a proper app because it is one. And when you want to change something, you change it in one place and both stores get it.
