our approach

Content must load instantly — everywhere.

Media has one non-negotiable: content must load instantly, everywhere, on every device. A two-second video buffer at prime time makes viewers leave. A broken paywall on launch day costs real revenue. Most media companies underestimate what that takes — until a traffic spike finds out for them.

We've built video-on-demand platforms, live streaming tools, publishing systems, creator payment products, and podcast infrastructure. We know how to make video adjust automatically to each viewer's connection, how subscriptions and viewing rights fit together, and how slow ad systems ruin the experience. We build all of it as core engineering, not bolted-on extras.

Audiences are trained by Netflix, Spotify, and YouTube. They won't tolerate buffering, broken search, or a paywall that pops up at the wrong moment. We build to that standard — smooth streaming, smart recommendations, low-delay live events, and subscription flows with no sneaky tricks.

— problems we solve

What we actually build.

01

Video that never buffers

Every video is prepared in multiple quality levels so it adjusts automatically to each viewer's connection — crisp 4K on the living-room TV, smooth playback on a phone in a moving car.

02

Subscriptions & paywalls

Stripe-powered subscriptions, free-article limits, trial-to-paid flows, and access that works across web and mobile — plus gentle recovery of failed payments so subscribers don't quietly slip away.

03

Publishing workflows

Modern content systems (Sanity, Contentful) with editorial approvals, scheduled publishing, and Google-friendly pages — so your editors can publish without waiting on engineers.

04

Ads that pay without ruining the site

Google Ad Manager, video ads before and during playback, and competitive ad auctions — engineered so the ads make money without making your pages crawl.

05

Knowing your audience

What people watch, how long they stay, and what to recommend next — plus your own audience data, so you're not dependent on third-party cookies that are going away.

06

Helping creators get paid

Tips, fan subscriptions, pay-per-view events, merchandise, and the rights tracking that makes sure creators and rights holders each get exactly what they're owed, from every revenue stream.

— platform architecture

The three layers every media platform needs.

Most media platforms collapse at scale because delivery, monetisation, and audience data were built as separate afterthoughts. We engineer all three as first-class systems from day one.

Content Delivery

  • Multi-bitrate HLS/DASH encoding pipelines
  • Mux or Cloudflare Stream managed transcoding
  • Adaptive bitrate playback on every device
  • Subtitle/caption generation & VTT delivery
  • DRM (Widevine/FairPlay) for protected content

Monetisation Layer

  • Stripe/RevenueCat subscription management
  • Metered & hard paywalls with entitlement enforcement
  • Pay-per-view & tiered access passes
  • VAST/VPAID pre-roll and mid-roll ad insertion
  • Creator tipping, fan memberships & revenue splits

Audience & Analytics

  • Play-through rate & engagement scoring
  • Content recommendation engine (collaborative filtering)
  • First-party audience data warehouse
  • A/B testing framework for content & paywall placement
  • Real-time dashboard: concurrent viewers, buffering rates

Performance budgets enforced on every pull request

Start-play time · LCP · Buffering ratio · CDN cache-hit rate · Ad TTI impact

— compliance & standards

Built for regulated publishing.

Media sits at the intersection of consumer privacy law, content regulation, and intellectual property rights. We treat every standard as an engineering constraint, not a legal checkbox.

GDPR & CCPA — European and California privacy laws
COPPA — the US law protecting children's data
DMCA — the US copyright takedown rules
WCAG 2.1 + closed captions (ADA/CVAA) — accessibility rules for media
PCI DSS — card-payment security for subscription billing
Music licensing reporting (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC)
OFCOM / FTC — UK and US advertising disclosure rules
— tech stack

how we engage

From content audit to live streams.

Every media engagement starts with a delivery and monetisation audit and ends with performance monitoring that keeps your platform stable when your next piece of content goes viral.

01

Content & monetisation audit

We map your current content library size, delivery infrastructure, paywall logic, and ad server dependencies before writing a line of code. You get a written architecture document and a performance budget your engineering team can hold to.

02

Delivery & platform architecture

We design the transcoding pipeline, CDN configuration, entitlement model, and audience data schema. Decisions like Mux vs. Cloudflare Stream and Stripe vs. RevenueCat are made here with load estimates and cost projections.

03

Build with performance controls in-line

Video start-play time and Core Web Vitals are budgeted on every PR. Ad tags are isolated and lazy-loaded. Paywall entitlement checks are enforced at the API layer, not just the frontend. No last-minute performance sprints before launch.

04

Launch & content reliability handoff

We instrument concurrent viewer counts, CDN cache-hit rates, buffering ratios, and subscription conversion by step. You get runbooks for CDN outages, encoding failures, and paywall edge cases — plus real-time dashboards for content operations.

Yes — video library, subscriptions, user profiles, and recommendations. 'Netflix-style' is really a question of scope, not technology. We'll scope your first launch honestly so you start with the features that matter, not an over-engineered everything-app.
